VCAL
Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)
Warracknabeal Secondary College offers students in Year 10 to 12 the opportunity to undertake the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) course at three levels - Senior, Intermediate, and Foundation - and includes the successful completion of a VET course.
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) is a hands-on option for students in Years 10-12. The VCAL gives students practical work-related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills and the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work. The Intermediate VCAL certificate is equivalent to the VCE certificate. Students undertaking VCAL will also have the opportunity to complete a VET certificate and work placement.
Students can select to study a pure VCAL stream in Year 10- 12, or combine VCAL units with selected VCE subjects.
School Projects
The VCAL students at Warracknabeal Secondary College have been involved in beautifying the school as a means of "giving back" to the school community. Students have painted outdoor structures, including shaded pergola areas, to creating welcoming and relaxing areas.
